School website
network - intranet

April 11th, 2015

This is the website for “Siach”, an alternative school after the dialogue spirit. “Siach” is the school we have created in Klil, which my son attended for 7 years, and which is currently at Kibbutz Beit HaEmek in the Western Galilee.

The school website is, in fact, a network: there is the main site, open to all on the World Wide Web, which anyone may see; In addition, there is a closed Intranet, with no connection to the outside web, which includes a second website for the “Siach” community (parents, extended families, teachers, children); and then there are blogs managed by the older children under my guidance. Three of these are now open to the Wide Web, as examples to this type of projects. These are educationalĀ blogs.

The objective of the main site is to offer anyone who is interested, including potential families and teachers, a way to see what “Siach” is, who we are, and why we are doing what we are doing, and allow for a glimpseĀ of the projects and works done by our children. To contact us for more, etc. It is our official internet presence.

The second, closed off, website consolidates all information which we do not whish to put out there in the open, protecting our children, and which, frankly, is only of interest to us, the “Siach” community. It where the picture galleries are, the videos, the projects, the class contents and summaries, the daily operation, and much much more.

And, of course, the educational children blogs are closed to protect their privacy, while still allowing them enough of an interaction to learn the useful skills.
